For workplace injuries, report all injuries to your doctor promptly and fill out a workers compensation claim form for your employer. For other types of personal injury, get medical attention right away, write down everything about how the injury happened, collect witness details if you can, and take photos of the scene and your injuries where possible. Then get legal advice. A common mistake people make is putting off medical reporting or thinking they can manage their injuries without seeing a doctor. This delay can seriously hurt a personal injury claim later on, because insurers may question whether injuries that were not reported quickly were actually caused by the incident.
What time limits apply to personal injury claims in Western Australia?
